DJ Donimo's JournalSunday, June 21, 2009Saturday, January 3, 20097:54PM - wrong wrong wrongFriday, January 2, 20099:51AM - Best singles of 2008I put together my list of the best singles of 2008. I really was unable to rank them, so they're chronological for the most part. Tuesday, December 30, 200810:47AM - BackSo, I'm back from visiting my parents for Xmas. It's always great to see my parents, sister and my bff, Chuck. I could in no way live in Tulsa again. I don't know if things have changed, but when I lived there, I just don't seem to remember as many people with two teeth and people wearing hunting gear everywhere. Current music: The Whip - Trash (Bloody Beetroots remix) Friday, December 5, 2008Thursday, October 30, 2008Tuesday, October 28, 20083:25PM - New math
Current music: Crystal Castles - Trash Hologram Tuesday, September 23, 200810:44PM - UmI kind of wish people like Lance Bass and Clay Aiken would stay in the closet. Thursday, September 4, 20086:12PM - WeekendI have a busy weekend ahead. Friday is the final Lucky Pierre. Saturday I'm DJing at Bearracuda, along with Friday, August 29, 200812:11PM - You were such a P.Y.T.Happy 50th Birthday Michael Jackson. I know many people seem to think I’m joking when I say that I think Michael Jackson is a genius and that he had a huge influence on my love of music. In 6th grade I realized that I was a complete freak by still listening to Michael Jackson when other kids were listening to, well I don’t even know what, but in a strange way that started me along the path of listening to whatever music I liked. A few years later when I discovered New Order, Wax Trax, Nitzer Ebb, etc., I certainly wasn’t still listening to Michael Jackson, but when I went back and listened to Thriller over 10 years later, I realized how great those songs still were. Current music: Digitalism - I Want I Want Wednesday, July 9, 200811:33AM - It's so cold, it's like the cold if you were deadDo you ever rediscover a record and get completely obsessed with it again? A few weeks ago I wanted to hear "Disintegration", which I really had not listened to in years, and now I'm listening to it again. With maybe the exception of "Pretty Hate Machine", I don't know if any other record was ever more "my teen angst bullshit has a body count" than this record. I always liked the Cure, but I guess I was never a complete Cure freak, even in high school. "Love Song" is terrible, but pretty much everything else on here is flawless. Current music: The Cure - Disintegration Thursday, July 3, 2008Tuesday, July 1, 20088:50AM - ShadowplayThe Shadowplay stage was so much fun Sunday. I got to see a lot of friends I don't see often enough, including Current music: Ladyhawke - Paris is Burning (Peaches remix) Monday, June 23, 200811:52AM - Shadowplay stageYes, the Shadowplay stage is happening again this year at Pride. We start at noon and go until 7:00, at Hyde and Market, as usual. If you haven't been, there really is nothing like blasting good music for tons of gay homosexuals all day in the sun. Current music: The Presets - Are You the One? (Simian Mobile Disco mix) Friday, June 6, 200810:46AM - Joy Division Zune
Current music: Santogold - L.E.S. Artistes Wednesday, June 4, 200811:17AM - Back in BlackYes, I haven't posted on here in forever. Now that I'm single I'm making an attempt to revive my LJ. Current music: Gang of Four - Cheeseburger Wednesday, June 20, 20078:28AM - Shadowplay Stage Sunday June 24, Hyde and Market, noon-6:30This Sunday, June 24, celebrate Pride at the Shadowplay Stage, the SF Pride Festival's indie dance oasis. The Stage is on Hyde St, just inside the festival gates from Market St, from noon to 6:30pm. Meet up with friends, hang out, and dance in the streets. The festival is free, though a donation to Pride, which goes to local non-profits, is encouraged. Thursday, April 5, 200712:40PM - Lucky PierreSo, the second Lucky Pierre is tomorrow night. The first one was nuts, tons of people, good music, comments from folks that is was their favorite club ever, etc. Tomorrow we are welcoming Barbeau, from the band Dirty Sanchez, as a guest DJ. Thursday, March 1, 2007Monday, January 15, 200711:04PM - Selling our souls for rock 'n' rollSo, those who haven't heard, we're moving Shadowplay to once a month in March, on 3rd Fridays. On first Fridays we're going to start doing a new night called Lucky Pierre, which is going to be horribly and frighteningly gay. The music will still be me, but we're doing things a little differently than Shadowplay.
